November Catch-up

IMG_3380November, overall, turned out to be a beautiful month. The fall leaves changed pretty quickly around here, and I got outside for several hikes during the first few weeks. It was great to take in all the fall leaves, the chilly temperatures, and the quieter hiking trails. It wasn’t always easy to find time for it, but I made sure to carve out a little extra time for myself this month, and it was definitely worth it.IMG_3394I also found a new pair of running/hiking shoes. They’re obnoxiously pink, and I love it. They go well with my other workout clothes, especially the extra black I wear during the colder months. I can’t wait to fully break them in so I can spend more time outside, and not coming home with blisters or sore heels.

We also got our first snowfall of the year a couple weeks ago. I had to take a picture because it didn’t stick around more than a day or so. It wasn’t much, but just enough to remind us that winter’s on its way!IMG_3408The last couple weeks have been rough, and I haven’t had much time or energy to update. I found out that I’ll be teaching 7 courses next semester – 3 of which I haven’t taught in well over a year. I have been spending much of my free time trying to get as much preparation work done as I can. It has involved a lot of coffee (Starbucks’ Caramel Macchiatto, in particular) and long hours at the office. While I am nervous about taking on such a huge work load (most teachers usually teach 3-4 courses per semester), I am excited to have the extra money in case we move in the near future. It will definitely pad my savings account!IMG_3444I’m hoping that with final exams coming up soon, I can have more time to devote to blogging. I’ll also have a couple weeks off to celebrate the holidays, bake cookies, and try to find my holiday cheer this year.

First order of business? More hot chocolate. 🙂
